What is Raptor?

Raptor provides fast and open platform development tools for validated, rugged, high-volume production controllers and displays.

Who Developed Raptor? And Why?

New Eagle is a technology company based in the US, whose engineering team saw the power of using a code generator to transform a Matlab Simulink model into code that could run on an embedded controller. This was more than 15 years ago, and since then, New Eagle has developed a full range of Raptor Hardware, Tier 1 OEM controllers and displays with Raptor embedded to enable programming using a complete platform of Raptor Software tools to harness the productivity found in software development using code-generating Simulink Models.

Get started quickly

Raptor-Dev enables model-based development with fully automated code generation to a production target. Matches the speed and flexibility of traditional rapid control prototyping tools with production code for a production ECU.

Raptor Tools support controls development from prototyping through production and into field service.

Simplified Embedded Model-Based Development (eMBD) facilitates rapid development and easy testing and calibration, reducing time-to- market

Simple and easy to use

New Eagle’s Raptor toolset builds upon MathWorks‘ world-class Simulink. Raptor Dev's open-ECU development environment within Simulink simplifies the development process, letting you use native blocks and features alongside Raptor blocks to quickly create custom software for compatible production controllers and displays.

Many software calibration tools are expensive, difficult to use, or have a limited functionality. New Eagle’s Raptor-Cal tool is a cost-effective, powerful software calibration tool that makes programming and calibrating ECUs, displays, and datalog model signals easy. Prefer to use your existing tools? Raptor also supports industry-standard compliant calibration tools such as Vector and ATI Vision.

Why should you be using Raptor?

  • Validated Hardware

Raptor products leverage high-quality, validated, production hardware from world-class Tier 1 manufacturers including Bosch, Continental and Parker. Raptor offers all components required to build a full system, including Controllers, Displays, Motors, IO Devices, Dataloggers and Telematics.

  • Rapid Development

Raptor uses Matlab/Simulink to generate the code, using configurable and re-usable blocks for rapid prototyping and development. Raptor allows One-click fully-automated code generation onto production hardware for rapid implementation. Run your Simulink model on the hardware immediately. Raptor Users get to production faster with a 75% average decrease in time to market.

  • Visual Controls Logic

Raptor Control Algorithms are conceptualized in a flow diagram within Raptor. That’s how it’s taught in a university to training Controls Engineers, and that’s how it’s thought of in the mind’s eye. New Eagle created Raptor-Dev so that engineers could quickly create custom software in a format matching their conceptualization.

  • Simplified Development

The Raptor-Dev library includes drag and drop blocks to handle various common basic functions such as CAN communication, reading analogue inputs, and driving digital or analogue outputs as well as complex topics such as Calibration, and Fault Management. Raptor is also portable across Hardware platforms.

  • Shorter Development Cycle

Pairing Model Based Development with production hardware means the development cycle is dramatically reduced, as are costs and the time-to-market. Raptor Development is done on the same production controllers used for mass manufacturing. There is no need to redo designs or software as you transition from concept to mass production. Using Raptor unlocks an average 50% reduction in development costs.

  • Common Data Output Analysis

Raptor expedites development by providing a common interface and output for configuring and viewing data logs across all hardware. There is a common interface for viewing, configuring, and analysing data regardless of the device logging the data - whether it is Telematics kit, an embedded datalogger within a display, or direct from a PC connected Data Logger
